Health and social care students, Care staff, NVQ candidates level 2 and 3, Residential care staff (Children/Adults)

Rationale

The course covers the essentials of managing immediate, potentially life threatening incidents in a systematic manner. Ideal for appointed persons and anyone who is required to take charge at an incident, maintaining records and equipment such as first aid kits.

Accreditation and Recognition

CSCI, Ofsted, National Occupational Standards with care sector NVQ unit HSC22, 32, 374.

Course Duration

1 day (4 hours minimum contact time) to suit the clients working day.

Syllabus

Safe best practice, A system approach to incident management, Unconsciousness, Causes and treatments, External bleeding and shock, Resuscitation procedures including choking, Tailored content, Awareness of current regulations.

Student Package

Interactive hands on training, 1 CPR manikin per 2 participants, easy to follow individual course booklet and an approved certificate valid for three years.
