Rationale

This course is for those who might have to identify and manage emergency situations or manage minor everyday occurrences when looking after young children and babies. This qualification meets the criteria for effective paediatrics first aid training found in appendix 1 of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) practice guidance document. The present (EYFS) statutory framework requires at least one person who has a current paediatric first aid certificate to be on the premises or on outings at all times when children are present.

Syllabus

The training is designed for workers caring for children in the absence of their parents according to EYFS guidance for effective paediatric training, The training leading towards the certificate or renewal is a minimum of 12 hours, The certificate should be renewed every three years. Resuscitation and other equipment includes baby and junior models as appropriate. Training covers appropriate content of a first aid box for children and babies. Training includes recording accidents and incidents.

Interactive hands-on training, 1 CPR training manikin (child and baby sized) per 2 candidates, Easy to follow course manual, a recognised  qualification certificate with 3 years license to practice.
