1. ITC Certificate in Outdoor First Aid  (16 hours.)

This qualification has been developed with the support of the SQA for the requirements of the worker or practitioner in the outdoor environment, and is recognised THROUGHOUT THE UK.  It is the course of choice for many experienced outdoor practitioners.

Target Group

This course is valid for all national governing body outdoor instructor awards, eg. MIA, ML, SPA, BCU, MBLA.

It is also suitable for anyone working or playing in the outdoors, such as walkers, climbers, cyclists, paddlers, D of E, field studies, school party leaders, Scout leaders.

Rationale

The outdoor environment nearly always means that casualties have to be looked after for longer than in urban settings. All of our outdoor first aid courses look at how to manage the situation when the ambulance does not turn up in 10 minutes, and is appropriate if the incident is in a remote area.
